Umbrella Project to Benefit American Service Animal Society Dogs4Vets Program
January 20, 2021 – Gilbert, AZ
The Umbrella Project’s 2021 mission is to raise funds for the Dogs4Vets program. Located at 3249 South Lindsay Road, Gilbert, AZ, Dogs4Vets has been in operation since 2005 helping veterans every year with service dog training at no cost to the vet. Since then, Dogs4Vets has become one of the largest programs of its kind in the nation.
Arizona has 96,000 disabled veterans; 35 percent of them have serious disabilities after returning from duty. The Dogs4Vets program trains the veteran’s own dog so they become a certified service dog. If the veteran does not have a dog, the program advocates the use of rescue dogs which ensures that dogs receive a loving home and vets receive unconditional love from a deserving pet.
Vets relocate from all over the country to attend this program. The Dogs4Vets trainers are educated, compassionate people who want to give back to our military men and women. Most trainers are disabled veterans or family members of disabled veterans.
